Went fishing midday here in Northeast TX. We usually see Bass 1 a lot but I rarely see BASS 2. As far as patterns go, what type of strain do you think these are?

Some largies just look like that, they look almost identical to a spotted bass but with their subtle differences

Just caught one like that in Idaho where there’s nothing else it could be besides a normal largie

I guess I was thinking we may have gotten a florida or something else. We have alot with solid lateral lines and more common Bass 1s but it just struck me as odd looking back at the pictures he was just so light and the spots closer to his top of his spine were alot more emphasized than most we see in the area.

Where were you fishing?
Some lakes and ponds in North Texas have been stocked with Florida bass – a large mouth subspecies.
They don’t look very different.
We have three farm ponds to fish. All stocked with the same fish.
One of the ponds is a lot shallower and has much less cover. Those fish are much lighter in color and have less markings than fish in the other two ponds.
