Every spring I’ve always had good luck fishing for walleye and walleye/sauger hybrids at my local lake. I would usually cast a Gulp minnow on a jig-head towards the shore, and kind of bounce it along the bottom back towards the boat. This method never works for me in the fall, even with water temps dropping quite a bit. The lake I’m fishing only gets around 12-15 feet deep when the water level is normal. Do walleye tend to be more suspended in the fall? I’ve considered trolling with spinners but I’m curious if anyone else has any fall walleye tips.

Fish during the early morning or sunset and at night.

They’ll be super shallow, like 3-6 feet.
