Cast, wait a minute or two to allow the ripples to disapate, allow the line to remain slightly slack, aim the tip of your rod at the water, twitch the the rod while turning the handle, pause, repeat, keeping the line slack is important. Its called walking the dog. When you get a hit don’t swing for the fences right away. Wait two seconds then set the hook. You’ll get better hook ups with a litlle patience. Also im no pro.
