Super curious about how people get their bettas to have such gorgeous big fins!!
The first photo above is what he did look like at some point, 2nd is more recent. I had a situation where a lot of his fins got damaged a few months ago (filter was too strong). I don't think I've got any current photos of his fins, but I'll definitely get a few when I have the chance.
His water parameters are fine, I get them checked regularly.
Is it potentially just that his fins are still recovering? I've been noticing a very very slow improvement since then, but it's still concerning me. And many of his fins are just crooked – that doesn't seem to be improving at all. But do I just need to be patient with it?
No, he has absolutely nothing artificial (besides his heater & plant holders) or sharp in his tank.

His fins are arguably okay, just really rugged, and inconsistent in texture. Especially compared to that gorgeous, perfect way he used to look lol.
I’ve asked people, especially the fishy-people in local pet stores, none say there’s anything wrong with his fins technically, I genuinely thought he had fin-rot for a while but no. His fins are just supper annoying (to me at least).
