I have this 5 gallon and i want to get a betta and maybe shrimp but they cant live in this 5g together but i was planning to get a 10g at some point but i dont know should i buy the betta first and then let it settle a bit in this tank and then move it to the 10g one once i get it or get the 10g first and then the betta and i would like to have a few shrimp in the 10g but they should be in a tank for like a week before a betta comes and thats not a problem but it might be that the betta has gotten used to that that it doesnt have tankmates so should i get the 10g first then the shrimp and then the betta? But also ive heard some bettas not liking being in a 10g also i was thinking just moving the gravel, plants and other stuff from the 5g to the 10g but what if it doesnt work out i would have the 10g set up and the shrimp amd betta in it but now the 5g is empty should i just keep the 5g running just in case and buy the 10g its own stuff but i can also just ditch the idea of having shrimp but should i still upgrade to the 10g?

I think the betta and shrimp will be just fine, but get 2+ shrimp. Not just the one. I’d buy together so the betta doesn’t get territorial. Put the shrimp in first
your betta and shrimp can live together in a 5g!
