
Need a pair of boots and like the idea of having a less clunky, lighter weight boot. Most my fishing is done in creeks and rivers with slick rocks. I have siped astral wet wading shoes and they grip great without the need for cleats. Figured this would be a good combo of both a hiking boot and wading boot, just want to be sure they grip well.

I don’t think you want waterproof wading boots.
No experience with those but I’m a fan of flats wading boots for the same reasons. Felt bottoms are hard to beat on slippery rocks too if you can find them.
Buy once, cry once is my motto….. I love my Patagonia Forrras.
