Betta Fish: Meet Fin Diesel

Meet my shiny boy Fin Diesel!
When I first researched Bettas I fell in love with Alien Coppers. But I didn't wanted to import one and couldn't find local breeders, they seem to be rare in my country. So I found another breeder an hour away and reserved a sweet girl in another coloring and started cycling a tank for her. She will move in next week.

But then it happend! A week ago I stumbled across someone offering this one and I had to get him. Now he is my first Betta and he is so cool!

When he arrived I was shocked. The seller didn't pack him well and used another shipment method then promised. He came some hours late and his bag lost a big amount of water, I feared for the worst. But he made it. Very stressed though. Hadn't I known about those fish changing their colours when stressed, I would have thought someone send me the wrong one. But what a difference a day made!

He had to move in with my Neocaridinas and is currently waiting for me to set up a bigger tank for him, but he doesn't seem to mind.
At first he hid behind the plants, just peeking out to see that creepy human watching him all the time.
The next day he had eaten a lot of the Microfauna and looked fantastic! Thats when I decided on his name. None other would be fitting for his cool flipflop colourway.

So far I cought him chilling on a single strand of Java moss, hanging upside down of an anubias in coconut bed and discussing business with the shrimps. They sure are bratty and dont like him near their food bowl 🙄

One time he was startled by a leaf and tried to blame the shrimp. But the shrimp wasn't having any of it and won the stare down contest.

Sitting in front of the tank is now my favourite thing to do. I'm so hooked 💯
