Caught this little beauty in a pool under a tiny waterfall while bluelining just south of San Jose, CA. Absolutely gorgeous, but I’ve never seen a trout with a dorsal fin like that (maybe he wanted to be a grayling when he grew up). After looking up a bunch of pictures it looks like some kind of redband, maybe, but their range maps that I saw don’t go nearly that far south. Any help with species ID would be awesome!

    It kinda looks like a salmon in the parr stage, browns also look similar at that stage but I think their vertical bars are darker, not totally sure but I’d call it a salmon parr
