I’m trying to catch my first trout and only have a spinning reel, so the spots I can fish at are limited. They recently stocked the TMA with brook trout, and I’ve been fishing the green area on the map but haven’t had any luck yet.
How far do trout usually move downstream after being stocked? Should I try working my way farther down from the stocking points, or are they more likely to stay put for a while? Also, any tips for targeting stocked brooks with spinning gear would be super helpful.
(Currently throwing kast masters, spinners, rooster tails, and rapalas)

Worm on a bobber, nothing can beat it or I would flip over a couple rocks and see what kind of bugs they’re munching on. Dragonfly larva are usually a big hit with trout.
