Full disclosure – this hardscape wasn't made by me. However, got it for a deal at FB Marketplace. It's been abandoned for quite sometime and had dead moss/algae(?) all over the rocks, so I cleaned it up with hydrogen peroxide and set up a new filter since the original tank did not come with one. I've been able to clean up the dead plants mostly by hand and the debris is cleaned by the filter.
The tank is 45cm long and fits approx 10 gallons water with the existing hardscape.
Questions and suggestions –
- how long should I cycle it before I can add my fish?
- what kind of plants would look good? I'm looking for moss or green carpet on the "cliff-tops" kind of look (last image in the post)
- any peculiar suggestions, advices?
I'm fairly new to the hobby and would appreciate all feedback. PS. Found a snail. Don't know what kind though.
