Aquariums: Im upgrading to a 30 gallon next month, so i was wondering what fish to add.
I have a betta currently who is very docile and does amazing with snails. I dont see any problem there but I was thinking some neon tetras, some small schooling fish or pleco. Any suggestions are great

You could add mostly any type of tropical fish along with gouramis, I be got convict cychlids and sharks (ruby, silver black tips and albino) along with around forty others
Some are aggressive but they’re only fighting for a feeding area.
Anyhow I hope you enjoy the evenings relaxing beside your tank.

I have tetras with my Betta they are great tank mates. Generally small schooling fish are fine just as long as they aren’t too colorful or bitey. Male guppies and Bettas are a no go (found that out the hard way). Not sure about plecos, haven’t owned them but I know they normally get huge so take that as you will.

Id keep the female in her tank, establish the 30 with small fish you enjoy like tetras, all small ones work as long as you have a group of 8+ you can mix and match, I have neons, dark neons, ember, green neons. Endlers also work well, and guppy males as usually fine never had a problem, but again betta has to be last added to the tank, that way she doesn’t claim it as her own before anyone gets there, if they are already there she can be chill, or another thing I like to do is desensitize them to other fish, I have a very large floating net box I put them in inside of the community tank, keep them in there a week or so, then release them, this helps them get all the ‘oooo whats that new fish’ energy out before they have no barriers.
I also have had white clouds and corys no problem, all non territorial small fish, if schooling keep in schools of 8 at least.
