Hey everyone,
I'd love to get your opinions – do you think my tank is a bit overplanted? It's a 60 L cube with Aqua Soil and a 20 W Fluval light. I'm not using CO2 or a filter, just an air stone for circulation, and I keep a small heater in there for colder days.
It's been running pretty stable, but I feel like it might look a bit crowded. Do you think I should thin it out, or just let it grow in naturally? Any layout or aquascaping tips are appreciated!

You still have exposed soil.
No such thing as too many plants lol. I think it’s a perfect amount. The only thing to worry about is if your plants get to a point of taking up every space and fish have no room to swim anymore.
If you only have the shrimp in there, you’re totally good, not even close to crowding.
Also as far as looks go, I think it looks good how it is. looks very natural, I really like it!
Also if you’re running an air stone, may as well make it a sponge filter.
Nope. My 5gal shrimp tanks are worse 🙂
I’m a big fan of this style in smaller tanks. Stems on the side growing to the water line and a gap in the middle. With low growing plants like smaller Anubias in the middle. It always looks good and has a great focal point.
The ludwigia in the back left might eventually drive you nuts though. They dont get fuller as you trim them. The rotala red on the right though is a great plant. It just fills out as you trim it and akways looks nice.
