So I here is my betta. I am a first time fish owner. I went to the shop to buy some dog supplies and this guy snatched my attention. I bought him at tank with white sand at the bottom
A few aquatic plants like Mexican sword and cabomba in his tank.
This fish was fine and playing around and making nests…
Suddenly my nephew came with limestone. He put them in the aquarium…

Now here is where all the problem starts. The water turn milky. So I put betta in a small tank and had to change the water. Now on receiving the new water my fish kind of slowed down. So I put it in a small tank again for observation. He was not having pellet food for 2 days. And still not having it now. He is doing all the chewing stuff and spitting out. Only think he had is egg yolk boiled pellet.

Now I have changed the water. And he is swimming kind of with some more energy.
No nests or anything
I moved out all the sand and plants… Keeping him in the bare aquarium.

He seems kind of stable now but hasn't taken the pellets and only having egg yolk.

I personally wouldn’t feed too much more egg yolk! Did you cycle the tank at all or test parameters? Also unfortunately bubble nests arnt a sign of happiness, it only really indicates that they want kids! Also i would soak pellets if you arnt already! Answering mod questions would be super helpful, it can’t be difficult to diagnose with parameters! Hope he gets better 🙂

Edit: Also they don’t have to be fed everyday! They can go a while without food. Sometimes it’s better to hold off. Also wanted to ask if you have filtered water or got the chlorine out of the water? There’s a thing called new tank syndrome, i would check it out! He’s probably just stressed from the moving and new (possibly uncycled) tank. sorry for all the alsos

Omg i’m sorry but ALSO, don’t be discouraged by these illnesses or mistakes, it happens to all of us and is definetly hard to deal with but the good part is that we learn and give out new pet the best little life they deserve! I know how stressful it can be.
