Purists will say main line with a single split shot. Psychos like me will throw a 60lb test leader/swivel combo on there, just in case you hook a turtle or extra toothy boy.

I’d add weight so I could cast it a bit easier, unless I’m using a bobber. Even then though, I may add a bit of weight.

I don’t use swivels. Tired directly to Flouro leader. Next time, use the fat end of the worm for the hook. You’re worms will last longer.

I tie this to main line no weights casts just fine. Watch a couple youtube videos on how to do a texas rig setup. Your hook is a bit wonky causing the kink in your bait.
