My Betta Timothy disappeared today…he usually comes out and greets me whenever I come near the tank, but this afternoon he didn't. I started to get really worried and eventually found him stuck inside a piece of driftwood. I have no idea how he even got in there, the space was so small. I managed to get him out, but he was already gone.
I am absolutely devastated. I wanted to set up my tank in a natural way with lots of planting and wood, so that he would have a wonderful life with lots of interest, but now I just feel like I totally failed him…

I don’t think you failed him. It sounds like he did have a wonderful life, remember that this happens in nature all the time. It sounds like you did your best and that’s all that matters!!
