Any idea what that circular mark on this large mouth is ?
Thinking it looked like a scar from lamprey but don’t think there where any lampreys in the lake I was fishing. Maybe just genetic or battle scar from the past ? If you look closely it’s on the gill cover.

Probably just a wound that healed, I caught one just like that one time except there was algae growing on it
