My female veil-tale was bought by a classmate for our aquatic science class. Her set up isn’t the best, but after the semester I plan to take her home and upgrade her tank(live plants, more space, etc). However, she has red marks on her face and I’m worried it’s harming her. She swims up to me when I walk up to her tank and seems to be acting normal. Any help or information would be great!

To me personally, it just looks like the fish’s pattern, but if you’re that worried it may be scratches, take out any sharp objects that may be causing the damage
I’m not positive, but I *think* she may be fairly young, in which case it may just be her coloration coming in.
The other possibility is hemorrhagic septicemia, but if that were the case the fish would *probably* be acting distressed, and be dead within a few days of the red marks first appearing.
Looks like her colours are coming in 🙂 she’ll be fine.
Also do you need any ideas for a better setup?
