TLDR: looking for a Heavy Mod Chatterbait stick that can handle and load up on lighter chatterbaits properly. Particularly when casting and working baits. Throwing mainly 1/4 oz minimaxs and minis.

What's up guys. As you can tell by the caption, im looking for a new bonafide multipurpose chatterbait rod. I previously used the victory and LOVED the rod and it's action, however I wasn't a fan of the reel seat that inevitably failed on me. For this reason I think I'm gonna steer clear of another victory.

I had great success fishing that rod for a number of different CBs at different weights. The action was just perfect for sticking and pinning those fish.

Now I recently bought an evergreen combat stick jackhammer special. And while it has been an awesome rod, the problem with it is it's a bit heavy to the point where it neglects the lighter weight chatterbaits. A bit overlooked IMO as this is to to be "THE" chatterbait rod, but I guess they took that Jackhammer branding a bit too literally. Rod isn't as versatile among all CB lines as it should be imo but that's besides the point.

What rods are good alternatives to this victory I aforementioned. Obviously this is one of those things that people will have differing opinions on, but my preferred setup is as follows.

I want a Heavy Mod/mod fast in the mid 7 range that's capable of throwing a range of baits WELL from 1/4 oz up to 1 oz. Typically throw these on a 150 size Shimano MGL BC spooled with 12-14 lb straight FC line. Go between my bantam and Rado MGL. (Would be okay with slightly lighter top end recommend weight. I throw mainly 1/4 oz to keep it out the rocks with differing trailers. Very few applications I use actually require an oz)

Here's a few models I've been looking at. Let me know your opinions or if you've used these rods in the past.

Evergreen Combat Stick 7 ft 7 MH MOD-FAST

Megabass Levante 7 ft 5 Medium Mod-Fast EMTF

Dobyns Champ XP 7 Ft 4 744C Heavy XF

A wide range of rods but this is where I'm at. I've used rods from all brands and love them. Just looking for the right fit and perfect match between sensitivity, hookup ratio, and give in the blank which I believe at Croix has dialed. Obviously will gladly hear out other recs as well.

PFA of my jackhammer rod and a few CB catches on the year.
