I thought they were dead, they were like this last night, but now they’re poking their stalks out. I moved them off the air bubbles because they were getting a little knocked around, then they moved apart. What is going on??

Mine do this constantly and are constantly laying eggs in my 55g. I check for eggs under the lid every few days and remove them. But somehow eggs got laid under my filter cover and they hatched because I didn’t see them.
