I added some driftwood to my tank for the first time. I know it's normal to have biofilm on the wood itself but I noticed today that it's on my sponge filter and lil house. Before anyone else says it I know the house is lame but Patton, my male guppy, is obsessed with it. I don't have the heart to remove it 😭

Do you have bottom feeders, shrimp or snails that like biofilm? If not, there’s no reason you can’t just scrape or wipe it off.
Biofilm is completely harmless and will vanish over time.
