Ok, so, those plants above look like they're out of place and should be more buried in the sand (IDK actually :/, trying to learn a bit better ), but I don't have anything to push them down, besides my hand. Can I just put my hand in there and adjust it or will it fright my fishy friend? If I can do that, what's the right way to clean my hand?

Dont wash hands with soap. Rinse em off good. Soap residue can cause problems for your fish.
You can get a magnet scrubber thats pretty easy to use so you dont have to reach inside the tank to clean the glass. Its just two magnets with felt on them.
Be careful pushin on the glass.
If he doesn’t tweak the fuck out and dart around when you get your hand in, he’s cool. And used to you doing that.
My fish will peck at me casue I’ve desensitized them to me putting my hand in the tank
It would be more preferrable to have dark sand or dark soil, both for you and for the fish
I just use a razor blade on the glass works great
