I have inherited a large bunch of fishing rods, and most I've been able to figure out. But this one has stumped me.

It's 5'6" long, has wood handles, medium action, and is well loved/used, but it's in better shape than other rods.

It had a Penn 285 reel on it (I believe a youth deep sea reel), and the worn-out markings on the roof seen to say "Cousin rod made in the USA by Walter International," then has a table that confirms the length and medium action.

But I cannot find anything about Walter international in the realm of fishing poles.

The length seems like a fly rod length for casting underneath branches or even docks. But it doesn't look like a fly rod, with the position of the reel.

Did anybody know anything about the brand and custom rods like this? Was this a custom, youth deep sea rod and reel setup? That's kind of my best guess, but IDK.

Any help or leads are appreciated.
