
Cleaning this striper I caught just an hour ago and these string things appeared in the first filet (may have come out if the stomach cavity). It is definitely moving. Does this fish have worms and should be avoided? Was going to play it safe but hate to waste meat. Fish looks healthy otherwise.

All fish have worms. It’s why we cook them
Pretty much all fish have worms in them. They’re not a problem as long as you cook them.
Unless you’re eating raw. You’re fine if you cook it
You won’t find a single fish in the wild that doesn’t have parasites. That is the reason we always cook it through and through.
