So according to my quick Google research in small numbers they are fine and this seems to be the only one. Currently have 6 Otto's, 5 amano shrimp, and 5 green neons in quarantine dealing with Ich for about 4 days (don't worry about greens neons numbers I plan on getting more)

I do plan on getting black neons or cardinals next year

  1. Unless you are breeding fish or shrimp, Amphipods are ideal.

They consume waste, tear apart dead stuff and generally clean your substrate.

These little guys tend to breed like crazy so there will be a lot more if you don’t act early. They won’t directly hurt anything, but are known to outcompete shrimp for food

Awww man! That’s just like seeing a spring tail in your plants! That’s a maintenance worker right there!

Your fish will love the scuds! They are natural food for them. Plus, u/EndlerFan is right, they will take care of things in the tank that even shrimp won’t touch.

  5. They eat baby shrimps or fish, so if you want to breed, you need to remove them or at least introduce a predator
