rubber pvc vinyl – clean with brush and hose when cleaning boat, or when i’m home if they still smell (with dawn and the hose )
gore-tex/“breathable “ – have to wash in washing machine with nixwax or similar special not soap- then re-waterproof

I don’t work in the fishing industry , but I use waders, wading jackets and bibs in saltwater. I just rinse off with freshwater before storing.
