I have a 7 gallon fish tank and only have fluval stratum on the bottom. I only have a single rooted plant but do have others (as seen). I have my betta and a mystery snail along with a hitchhiker shrimp in there somewhere. Just wondering how I clean the tank? I’ve just been doing water top offs but should I be cleaning gunk off the stratum? Since I can’t vacuum the stratum, how would I remove waste?
Tank has been cycled for 3 months. Water temp is kept at 78, I have a sponge filter and water parameters are in check.

Tank size: 7 gallon
Heater and filter: yes
Tank temperature: 78 degrees
Parameters: not sure off the top of my head, but I use the freshwater test kit to check them – last I had checked, all were good
I’ve had the tank for 3 months and the fish for 2
Last water change (3 weeks ago was about 15%). Recently just been topping off the water
Tank mates are a mystery snail and a shrimp
I feed 5-6 pellets a day which he eats all and then fast one day
I do have the SpongeBob hideaway and a tube/floating hideaway. Medium sized driftwood with Anubis and a smaller one with a smaller Anubis. A floating fern and a rooted Java fern.
I use the fluval stratum and I do vacuum up debris from on top. I dont do the whole vacuuming where you let the substrate/gravel go into the vacuum but i just hover above it to primarily pick up and built up bits of gross stuff i see
