I’m a lightweight at 135lbs, and it’d be very light gear load other than the motor and small gas can

That kayak does not have a motor mount or a place for one. I personally wouldn’t trust using an outboard on a kayak with a rigged motor mount, but maybe someone else has experience with it.

  2. There’s no transom on this Kayak. It’s not meant to have a motor on it. If you’re looking into a Kayak that you can safely put a motor on check out nu canoe frontier or unlimited’s. They’re a bit steep price wise but they’re actually designed to put motors on if you wanted to.

Even if you rig it bad Idea. Teton has 275lb max. That leaves only 140 after you and just your clothes. 40lb motor another 20lbs gas (6 lbs per gal) all on the transom will really mess up the balance. Now add your fishing gear, lunch, beer…. Get a heavier kayak with a transom for that $1000 motor.

  4. I’m baffled why you would consider this over one of the dozen electric motors on the market.
