Hi all, I recently got this baby betta named Phoenix from my LFS. I feel a mix of bug bites daily, along with the occasional treat of a bloodworm maybe once a week or so. However, I also feed sinking pellets to my snails in the tank (maybe a few pieces per week).
I noticed he’s been pretty bloated every day after feeding. Is this common? My other two bettas in other tanks don’t have this issue. Is it because he’s so small still? I’m feeding him less than the other two I have. Thanks!

Tank setup for about 2 months, added fish 2-3 wks ago
15% water change weekly, add room temp water back in with dechlorinator
2 mystery snails & 2 nerite snails
Feed: Fluval bug bites (tiny pinch daily), bloodworms once every week or two, and crab cuisine for snails.
Driftwood and anubias in the tank
I have to put my guy in his floating cup jail until my sinking pallets for my snail and shrimp expand enough for him to not be able to eat it lol bc he’ll eat anything even if I put broccoli in there he’ll try to snatch a bite
Yeah in my experience bettas in community tanks will eat until they eventually die from complications unless actions are taken to limit feeding.
