I’m sure I’ll be downvoted for this, but I’m in support of this, so long as the fee is reasonable. The WI DNR has been struggling with being underfunded for years. Stocking and surveying programs have been cut because of this. I’d happily pay more if it means a properly funded DNR.

They already do where I am and they treat it as a motor boat if you put a trolling motor on it.

We do here in NC only if kayak is propelled by gas or electric motors. I see it’s the same in WI. I personally would not register mine if powered by electric. I’d play ignorant if ever stopped.
