Is this your absolute first time with a fly rod? I’d recommend looking on youtube for some of the beginner explainer videos like those from Tom at Orvis, or Simon at Rio. The guys at Ventures have been making some decent videos lately too.

Learning to cast is going to be the key to enjoying fly fishing. I personally learned the roll cast to begin with and I think it’s the most beginner friendly. Everyone associates fly fishing with the overhead cast but as a beginner you’re going to get stuck in trees, make a lot of birds nest, and potential catch yourself or other people (trust me I’ve learned from experience lol). Good luck learning!
