I just set this 10 gallon tank up to be cycled on the 14th, I’ve got plants growing & I have bladder snail (they are kind of thriving too) When is a good time to add my betta? My parameters have been consistent since day 1 (I took plants from my five gallon & swished that old filter in the new water a couple of times). & since it is new, can I change my filter? It’s bulky, I want to put it back in the 5 gallon (original tank) & I want an over the back filter, so it will put out less power for my betta. I’m going to just add more plants as time goes on as well, so the filtration will be pretty great. What would you do?

This is looking great so far!! for switching the filter id keep the old one in that tank while the new one is running for maybe about 2 or 3 weeks before removing the old one! Having an unestablished filter will crash the cycle so having the old one in there will keep it stable until the new one establishes some beneficial bacteria. Your tank should be fine with you add a bit of an ammonia source (liquid ammonia works best imo) and its able to clear that within a day or so but thats just personally what i would do to be on the safe side. make suee to keep an eye on the PH, it looks like youre at 6.8 which is pretty bare minimum so make sure it dosnt drop any further!I have mine around 7.5-7.8 ish for ph and she seems to be very content with that. youre almost there though!

Please remove the Dragon. Betta will rip its fin around the dragon. Avoid anything pointy or sharp in your tank.
