I caught a channel catfish on a spoon on my ultra light setup. It took me awhile to drag it out of the water but I was scared to touch it cus I saw someone else get stung by a small tiny catfish, and this one was wayyy bigger, 10 lbs, I lip gripped it and weighed it while giving a little bit of support to the belly/tail area. I wanted to hold it to my chest to take a picture but I got too scared that it's barbs would pierce through my jacket or something, so I just took a picture of it on the ground and let it swim off. I am going back to the same spot later today with some chicken livers to see if I can catch some bigger catfish. I don't have a catfish rod so I just use a 7ft bass fishing rod given to me by my neighbor. It has 17lb monofilament. Any tips on how to take a picture with a catfish?
