I’m trying to figure out how to help my betta, but not sure if it’s too late. I’ve given him 15 min epsom salt baths for the past 3 days, and of the past 72 hours he’s probably spent 60 of them in a floated Tupperware (20 hrs each). He’s pretty emaciated due to water stress maybe? He eats well and I had an auto feeder going for a while.

He’s clearly struggling with swim bladder or organ failure, but the fact he can still swim around makes me think maybe he has a fighting chance? I have a second 3g tank I could put him in, but it’s not cycled.

He’s gotten progressively more lethargic over the past 2 weeks until he was resting on the bottom breathing heavily abt 4 days ago. I’d rather now throw in the towel if I don’t have to, but also don’t want him to suffer.

Should I just leave him in the Tupperware and see if he recovers?

I wouldn’t put him down, give him a chance to fight. I say don’t feed him for 2 days maybe. Like fasting the fish and try to improve the water quality.
