Just want to drop in a video of my long 40 gallon tank. Added various Corydoras and black kuhli loaches last week and they're getting more accustomed with each other, I would like to get more rocks from Amazon to build shelter for me black kuhlis to hide under. Also, my sponge filter normally sits in the back, but the new fish stirred up a lot of mulm so I put the sponge filter in easy access to rinse it out so I could get the debris settled down some.
Current residents!
3 albino corydoras, 2 bronze, 4 julil, 5 black kuhli loaches, 1 striped kuhli (I was supposed to get 6 black kuhli) 14 briliant green rasboras, 5 male mystery snails. I will be getting all my corydoras up to 6 of each. My rasboras up to 20+. 4 more striped kuhli because of me ending up with the one. 1 male betta who is non aggressive. Maybe a couple vampire or bamboo shrimp. And a bridge for my blue dream shrimp to migrate into the big tank. Thats if my tank can handle such a bio-load.
Tank info!
Its a organic soil based tank like a walstad method tank, but with filters as its only my second tank other than my bluedream shrimp tank. Plants are… surviving. I cant keep anything other than new growth on some plants to stay vibrant and not wilt some. Co2 might help, but Im trying not to go overboard with this tank. The driftwood was a root system from the lake I grew up on in the summer and has a really unique shape. I use a lot of hygger products as I think theyre basically 2nd to fluval on Amazon, but a little cheaper on pricing and quality. My filter however is a seachem tidal 55 with a bunch of prefilters glued on all inlets for when shrimp get added or my fish have babies. Bought this tank 2nd hand and Im a little upset by the top trim being not being parallel to the bottom trim so water level looks funny sometimes. It actually needs to be topped off soon.
