I’m looking to build a couple new rod and reel combos and I’ve looked into this reel quite a bit but still don’t fully understand what gear ratio or rod would be best to buy with it.
I currently throw relatively anything from: Texas rigs, weighted plastic craw dads, crank baits, chatter baits, buzz baits, stick/jerk baits, spoons, poppers, spooks, frogs, etc… you get it, literally everything.
I currently have the Fenwick® Pflueger® Nighthawk™ LP Casting Combo which I use to throw a plethora of said lures with no issues.
My question is: what rod would be best suited with what gear ratio?
Is this a scenario where I buy two reels at different gear ratios with different rods, for example: one for light lures, one for heavy?
Any advice or insight is hugely appreciated! Thanks!
