Throwing mice isn't really new to me. I grew up in Alaska and spent a lot of days when I should have been in school, instead throwing barely recognizable mouse patterns I tied from packing peanuts and moose hair to big Rainbows.

I live and work in the Mountain West for most of the year now and something I thought would be easy to figure out (and boy, was I sorely mistaken) was how to target large Browns on mice patterns, at night.

A co-worker and I have spent two seasons trying to figure it out and, while the learning curve was a bit longer than we had expected, I feel far more confident now than I did after the initial 2-3 humbling attempts.

Consistency is the target and we're seeing more and more Browns over 24" these days. The season has come to an end for now but, man, am I excited to get back out there this coming Spring.
