My son woke up to find a small hole in our bettas top fin. 5gl tank. Water parameters are good. Two silk plants and one anubia on a small pc of driftwood. There are two flat stones but not jagged at all. We have one nerite snail in the tank as well
We do 25% water changes weekly. Any thoughts? Does it look like a tear from something or fin rot?

Ps his side fins have been like that since we got him 6mo ago from lfs. It is heated, constant 76f
I would also like to hear what others have to say. I posted about my guy a while back because he has a similar hole and someone told me it was due to his diet. I was feeding him bug bites only and now I alternate between that and frozen brine shrimp. It hasn’t been long but there are no new holes
