Been setting up a new 10 gallon tank to get a betta! Does anyone have any recommendations on other fish or things I can add to the tank? Any recommendations on type of Betta if I wanted other fish?

Snails, shrimp for sure. Your Betta may snack on the shrimp but if you put enough and they breed, free food.
Also, personally, I’d pull out the carbon in that AC filter and replace with more blue sponge. Or possibly filter floss if you want real clear water. The carbon will absorb some nutrients plants need and is mostly unnecessary. Don’t throw the sponge out just squeeze out the excess crap during maintenance.
I was told to consider shrimp or a snail for 10g. Not sure if Pygmy Cory’s are too much for 10g? Better to add your other choice first then the betta. Betta will be less territorial hopefully.
