Hey guys! I added 4 small plants when I first started this tank earlier this year and they’ve grown a ton since then. I also added some floaters and the roots of my Pothos when my tank first started. I’m not sure if my little Felix has enough room to swim now though and was wanting to get your opinions! Is this too planted? How much / what do I take out or cut?
Thank you all so much! This tank is 6 gallons.
I’ll post a picture in the comments on the last side of the tank since I wasn’t able to reach around the counter to get it in the video

Do you find your betta stays against the wall most of the time? I have a betta super similar and a pretty planted 10 gallon, and he just likes to sit against the wall like thism I keep wondering if I need to trim as well 😂
You should have areas that are clear for your betta to swim. Cut back one plant at a time. You can replant some of the tops if you want a dense carpet. I love a jungle tank, but they like to investigate and get to all areas, and this looks a little dense in my opinion.
Do a big trim! In my post history you’ll see my heavily planted 10gal. I took out one large plant and my betta started making bubble nests again! Ive since done a large overhaul to clear out more space for him. He is soooo much happier and active. My fish was lazy like yours and sat against the glass, but now he hides in the plants and hunts and makes nests. You could always save the trimmings in a bowl of water and offer them to friends or on Facebook Marketplace. Especially in a smaller tank they need as much room as they can get! Big big trim and pull out any unwanted plant babies
Its not too bad, but definitely should get trimmed a bit. I love a good planted tank. They are pretty and natural. But some swim room is good for them hah.
Thought this was a 10gal at first. For 6gal, def needs a trimmy. Really nice tank tho!
