I want to buy a rod mainly for fishing for striper from the shore with bait. Depending on the location I am fishing the current is pretty strong and moves the weight around so I am looking to use it with a 5-7oz weight. Already have 65lb braid on a reel and I have narrowed it down to these 2 rods. Any other advice is appreciated. Thanks!

I was going to lean towards the st. croix but I am also curious about how much of a casting distance the other one is.
I’d argue to go to the one with a casting distance furthest since you mention that the current is strong, and I would highly advise against wading in rough current waters.
I personally run a 13 ft rod that is rated for 6-15oz and on a 8k daiwa bg sized reel. It is way overkill, but I am able to cast past the 2nd trough and catch stripers over 2 ft long.
