Hey all I am still really nee to fly fishing and am learning more every day. Started last year with trying when I was in NorthEast PA. Still cant get my cast to get the line out there when I am fishing some bigger rivers. Just change line and backing because the other had been on for a good while. Got a 6wt line for my 5wt rod and orange backing on it now. Any pointers for getting my cast better? I bought the postfly learn to fly fish box and do plan on getting a new rod and reel (let's be honest it will be more than one lol) any help would be greatly appreciated. Loads of you tube videos- orvis and rio have some pretty comprehensive compilations for casting.
But even better- if you’ve got a local shop, ask about in person casting lessons.
Slow down the cast and practice. Indicator rigs need a bigger loop and drys cast like butter
