So I’ve got the schematic online and made sure it was the right reel model.

For some reason, I put it back together (partially but enough) the way it was supposed to and I was left with that cylindrical piece and the reel anti reverse doesn’t work anymore.

Please help.

Edit: I put the reel fully bad together (without the cylindrical piece) and the rotor is wobbly and the anti reverse still doesn’t work. Everything else works.

I believe that piece goes inside the barrel part…no? Or it could co inside the crank by the bearings, cuz those bearings don’t sound right either…

Isn’t that the part that goes in the handle between the bearings? Also make sure you put that spring mechanism back together for the anti reverse switch, I have the same reel and ive taken it apart for maintenance but I dont remember everything exactly.

  3. That cylinder piece is the clutch ring. It slides onto the pinion gear and rides inside the AR bearing/clutch. It is essential to function. I checked the schematic for the president xt and it looks like they really didn’t include that part which is honestly an appalling oversight to me. Go look up any other spinning reels schematic and you will see where it goes.

Edit: just checked some other schematics and it looks like other companies (including Shimano) also include the clutch ring as a part of the AR clutch and list it as such on their schematics and parts catalog. This is honestly kinda disappointing to see

For reference, daiwa spinning reels schematics show where the equivalent part goes
