I want to stock this 10g with the following stock.

10 – neon tetras
10 – ember tetras
10 – corydoras hastatus (dwarf cory)

The sponge filter is rated for up to 55g (im rating it at 30g). This would be 1 of my 7 tanks so I’m not a newbie and know how to maintain. AqAdvisor has this stocking at 144% but I know it’s historically conservative. Would you think this stocking was okay in a 20” long 10 gallon with adequate filtration and an experienced fishkeeper?

  1. I think it’d be really really crowded honestly. 30 fish, even nanos, in a 10 gallon is quite a lot.

The neons want as much horizontal swim space as possible. Ember tetras still school but without neons. 10 embers and 10 hastatus would make a great tank.
