Ive added him to the tank about 2 weeks back, his fins were pretty healthy, but since the past 2 days ive noticed his fins tearing. He likes snuggling into tight spaces between rocks, wood and plants, i dont think its cause of that, because if it was, then he wouldve taken damage much earlier, and ive made sure to cover any rough/sharp edges with moss. He has been flaring at the glass a lot, and often even bumping into it, i tried covering all the sides with paper and towels, which reduced his flaring a bit. Though he is resting quite more often,
he still wanders around and is very active. I also have a heater set at 25°C. Also only his upper fins have damage, his lower fins are unharmed.
The tank is a 30cm cube.
Any suggestions for preventing further damage, and to heal him?

  1. Are your aquarium lights on when the room is much darker? That could cause the glass to show his reflection. If so you could try leaving your room lights on.
