We have been working on a permanent ice house all summer and plan to take it out this season 2025. My main concern is getting it stuck to the ice. Hoping I can get some feedback from people that have ran permanents in the past. Victories, fails, and general knowledge is greatly appreciated.

Lay some 1 inch lumber down under the shack where it makes contact with the ice.

Paint the lumber white before hand so it doesn’t absorb the sun and get warm.

When you go to move the house, chisel the lumber out and take it with you.
