Hello! I have a beautiful Betta named Calcifer whom I love but struggle to keep stimulated.
He is located in my room, which I am rarely in during the winter as it’s darker and I am usually doing school work or working on art so I need light.
I also work a full time job and am not home most of the day.
I have a mirror set up for him to look at and there are lots of real rocks and plants in his tank, including a little rock arch for him to swim through. There are also snails in the tank as well.
I just can’t help but feel like he’s bored (I would be)!
Any suggestions? I was thinking of getting some smaller fish to accompany him and have heard of Betta toys but don’t really know how effective those are. Thanks!!

I trained mine to swim in my hand. I also trained mine to follow my finger along the glass and into his floating tunnel. They are very smart.
I would start by teaching him to follow your finger.
if you can get a floating tunnel or a tunnel you can attach to the side of the tank.
Also depends on tank size and if it is stocked with any friends….
