I have some java fern. They aren't hriving, and some leaves are turning brown. Ive noticed these brown root like things growng from the tips of some of the leaves. Any idea what they are?
I have some mosses, floating plants, grasses and the tall fronds in the background of the lic that are all doing well. Just the java fern that are failing. Might simply be lack of light but not sure what the root things are

They are root-like because they are roots 🙂 Leave them be.
That’s their roots! You’ll eventually get baby ferns 🙂
Your fern is making babies and those are their roots. In a few weeks you’ll see leaves growing on top of your leaves and eventually, they’ll detach and start new lives elsewhere.
