I just noticed that a piece of the substrate has somehow gotten lodged into the bottom of his tiny little fins. (See yellow arrow in pic) it seems like this fin has some kind of pocket at the bottom that it got stuck in. He’s eating/swimming/acting fine but how do i get this out?? there’s no way he would be still enough for me to be able to get it without damaging his fins or hurting him. Do you think it will just fall out?? SOS 😭

That’s not substrate. It’s probably a benign tumor. My old betta Charles got them too, they aren’t malignant or harmful generally but can be unsightly. This image is one of Charles tumors, he had it for 6 months at least until he passed from old age.
Do not try to pull it off you will hurt him.
