Hi! I got my first Betta and set up her tank, but I’m noticing she’s not really using the betta leaf. I’m wondering if it’s too low? I normally find her nestled in the bunch of leaves in the back right of the tank and occasionally she will swim between the plastic log thing and suction cup of the leaf but not on top of it 🤔

What would yall do?
I thought about grabbing a Java Fern or something and seeing if that would work but I don’t wanna freak her out with too much foliage.

all tank leaves are plastic except the floaters

I think she likes the back right because it has the most coverage! And grab that Java fern! And some more real plants while you’re at it 😆those plastic ones are often too sharp for bettas and will cut them up 🙁

i second getting real plants. theyre about the same price and surprisingly not that hard to take care of. i thought i’d kill all of mine, but theyre going strong.

she may also just not use the leaf. my boy is a short fin, he’s a plakat, and he doesnt use any of the rests i have in there for him.

i thought, correct me if im wrong, while its still nice to have, generally only the longer finned bettas need them because their fins are so heavy they have to rest more
