I'm 98% sure skulls' filter is to strong, i just changed it from his crappy old one but he struggling it looks like, my dad says hes fine but I just dont think so, I would leave him in still water which he definitely prefers im not sure how good that is.. but just till i can find a ride to get a new one,
My issue is im treating him with kordon rapid cure and that needs the filter for another day, should i leave the filter on or?
And any suggestions for the best filter for him? Brands, type, anything?
5 gallon conditioned tank, no live plants, has a heater, hes in the mostly dark to much for the live plants but the testers seem all normal levels ive used aquarium salt as directed so im not sure other then missing the live plants as to why his fin rot hasnt gotten any better…
Skulls devoped fin rot a while ago 4 months ago ive been fending it off okay as per advice on here but its not getting much better, ive upgraded everything in his tank only soft plastic plants now so he atleast has something to hide in that he dosnt get stuck on, any suggestions? Broke student just tryna give him the happiest life. Ive tried live plants but the light just isnt enough i guess cuz they never really sprouted

Baffle the outflow with a sponge! This has worked wonders for me!
You can get a rubber band and bit of sponge filter or filter floss to put in front of the flow for now till you get things set up for the new stuff. As for filter….Aquarium co-op sponge filter is like the best imo. I’m upgrading both my tanks to their filters with the new design they have now.
